FFS. I use megaupload to store/backup work projects and photos - totally legal. Luckily I have nothing lost since I backup onto an external harddrive too, but I can't have been the only one to use it a file storage. A little warning would have been nice ( Read more... )

Grrr, this makes me so irritated I don't know where to start. Our government is completely out of control and using zero common sense about the file sharing issue. The cynical, conspiracy theorist in me can't help but wonder if this is more about casting the Obama administration in a bad light during an election year ( http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/entertainmentnewsbuzz/2012/01/obama-could-lose-some-support-in-hollywood-over-sopa.html ) than it is about file sharing. Ironically, I think this issue has the potential to fire up younger voters more than any other issue being debated right now -- you don't mess with people's internet, lol.

Why no, I'm not finally (and frantically) downloading all the eps of Merlin I've missed right now. ;) *sigh* Still need... Downton Abbey and Sherlock, though.

Cars are driven by drunk drivers, what next? Destroying all the roads? Talk about using a sledgehammer nut.

Perfect analogy!

The most popular theory is that it's payback for the blackout yesterday. To be honest, I wasn't paying that much attention but now that I've read up on it, this really gives us a taste of what's going to happen if SOPA gets passed in the US and PIPA in the EU. If this is happening without it...Jeeze. It's worrying (on top of the economy going bust, war on terror, bird flu re-emerging etc etc).

I haven't managed to grab all of Greek or the lastest episode of Project Runway yet, either! I may be able to help you out with Sherlock though.
