Decisions, decisions...
As of about 5 minutes ago I called Virginia Tech and let them know I've decided to accept their graduate school offer. And now I can finally stop stressing about it and focus on finishing classes. I think I ultimately felt more comfortable with VT than UC Davis for a number of reasons. I liked Dr. Splan much better and can see myself working with her. And there's something to be said for that fact that she made it quite clear she wants me to be there. I didn't get quite the same feeling from the professor at Davis. And I think Davis would expect a lot more out of me than I think I can do right now. And as soon as I called Dr. Splan and heard her reaction, I knew it was the right choice. So in the next couple of days I have to send my assistantship acceptance back and make a rather awkward phone call to the professor at Davis to tell her I'm not coming. I suck at talking on the phone anyway, so this should be interesting.
