year end...great news!

So, I walked to my department head's office and knocked on the door. This was yesterday during my shift. She was busy with a conference call on the phone and another team manager. OOPS! They were busy. O'kay, I'll go back another time.

In the mean time, I finished filling out my PMD (still need to forward to my TM) and add an honest comment about what unfair focus is put on the tiny little 15% of my secondary role as an email rep. My head was swimming with positive vibes and I was pumped. No one was going to make me feel like i'm not doing my job to the best of my abilities.

I knew what I wanted to tell my dept. head and I was confident; still am!

I was sitting at my pod not more than 15 minutes today when my dept. head sat down next to me. she was on her way home but took the time and apologised for being so busy yesterday and wanted to know what I had wanted to talk to her about. She has an oopen door policy and keeps faithful to that.

Anyhow, told her my piece and she agrees 100%!!! I am psyched!! She agrees that I'm not being fairly assessed. The problem is that there isn't a way to measure my nor my colleague's productivity. There's no job description on file for us...yet. She likened the unfairness to the extra bit the phone reps do to help out when we are overwheled in email. The emails they do are never looked at nor included as part of their PMDs, because it's a minor skill set just as email is a secondary skill set for me. I showed my dept head the list of calls I have to make on an average day. If I have the time, I may reply to 5-6 emails in a 7-hour day. HAH! She agrees! Whoop!

I also asked her if I could be moved into the team of which the TM is the head of OPDA. She agrees with that, too. I'll still go to the same team meetings as usual, so there's no problem.

I;'s 2:25am...tiem for bed. YAWN!
