The Philly Years

May 14, 2008 19:54

I will be uploading a series of poems and lyrics about my current life living in the city of Brotherly Love for over four years. It's had its up and downs and now I'm in the process of bettering my lifestyle. Well here goes nothing...

This first poem which is to be sung much like the Christmas Carol 'We Three Kings' is called 'Three Queens' and pokes a little fun at my first short-lived relationship with a guy. I know I'm being harsh but it's just how things go. So let's get on with it...

Three Queens

These three queens
They live a great lie
In a village
Two girls and a guy
They're his Mommy
And his Daddy
Back since the month of July.

OOOOOOOOOOOOO...

Boy no wonder
Boy I'm right
Insecure and tantrum fights
Twenty-seven
But really eleven
Lived home for most of his life.

These three queens
AKA 'The Fun Bunch'
Drink and binge
Then puke out their lunch
Having high standards
In South Philly manners
Racist you say?
...just a hunch.

OOOOOOOOOOOOO...

Boy no wonder
Boy I'm right
Selfish, spoiled
Day and night
No ambition
And college tuition
To land him a cushy job.

These three queens
They use and abuse
Pretend to care
And fairly amuse
Crush your dreams
And self-esteem
To make up for being fat.

OOOOOOOOOOOOO...

Boy no wonder
Boy I'm right
What a sad
And sorry sight
Never grateful
For food on the table
Happily son, wife and wife.

(More to come.)
