Tax law

Had my first test on tax today. I don't feel like I totally flubbed it- I know I got a couple questions wrong- but I don't think too many. I', surprised to be enjoying Tax. Beginning acct. was interesting and not ridiculously hard. Intermediate 1 was hard- but almost more because of the teacher than the subject matter- a lot of it was the stuff I learned in beginning but more in depth. The teacher was not good at explaining and more often than not left me more confused than just reading the book did. Intermediate 2 was hard- very hard- but the teacher was really good. There were still two areas I never really felt strong in, deferred tax and in pension payment plans- but everything else seemed ok and hard but comprehensible. Tax is sort of fun and that's a little unexpected. It all makes sense. It's pretty interesting and I do have to remember a lot- but the teacher is making it pretty clear- but we never get out early. She started a new chapter 20 minutes before the end of class today. We'll be finishing it next week- but it was a long long day. Also we've been having lunchtime presentations lately. They are killing me. We start class at 9 am- I have to leave SF before 8 am- so I get up at 6:30- drive to Santa Clara- spend 4 hours in class- sit in an hour long presentation- then spend another 4 hours in class - then drive another hour home. I know this isn't that different from a job- except that we're learning so much so fast and my butt gets really tired of sitting. And I get home tired and restless at the same time.
Rob worked overtime yesterday. That means this weekend we got no time together really. We had dinner last night and tonight- but still not a lot of down time together. I studied last night after dinner and before dinner and while he was at work etc. Friday I went to Vogue- cause I promised- but he didn't get to go cause of the last minute overtime. And tonight- well- he was watching the game when I got home- not a usual occurence I admit- I usually watch sports more than he does- but it threw off our timing and we were both very hungry by the time dinner came around and were irritable with each other. I love Rob, but after a couple of beers he can be really argumentative and truculent. It would have been nicer to come home to a less stubborn and difficult Rob- but I know he worked 6 long cold days this week and can only complain so much. It just sucks that between work and school our downtime is being shorted.
I caught the tail end of the game. It's disappointing that the 49'rs lost. It would have been lovely for them to win. Another year perhaps.
