So, this is (part of) why I love Columbia. I'm now the treasurer of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) and a couple of weeks ago I found out Steve Wozniak was coming here! But at the time, I had no idea who that was. It was then explained to me that he was the creator of Apple I and Apple II, inventor of the modern PC and universal remote and basically just all around computing legend. So I went to his talk today. It was AWESOME. He was great, the event was great, we filled the whole cinema (~400 people) and it was just amazing. Also, during Q&A, this guy stood up, asked a question and introduced himself as Timothy Wu, and I recognized the name from
this. I dunno, I just thought it was really cool. Brian Kernighan freshman year, Bill Gates last year, Steve Wozniak this year. It was just such a fun afternoon.
