So I had/am having a weird experience tonight. I have a group project due at 1 today (like... in 7.5 hours) and so I'm working on it with the other 3 members of my group in the computer lab in the engineering library. However, that closes at midnight, and as you can see, I'm still up and we're still working and it's 5:30. So we decide to go to the clic lab, which is basically the computer science lab, cs students get swipe access and special accounts and I'd worked in it before, but only during the day during a lab period and maybe one or two other times, but not at this time of night. So we walk in and I kind of expect to be one of only a few people here, however, I was wrong.
There is not only a sizeable amount of people here, but despite the fact that I always feel like I know very, very few of the surprisingly large amount of comsci majors, I know 4 of the people in here. Kind of bizarre. Anyways, so here we all are and we chat and we try and get help from each other and we make loud exclamations of exciement or frustration. It's pretty fun, considering where we are and what time of night it is. I feel like I finally understand the social network of the cs geeks. I even met some new people here. I guess it only makes sense that cs students meet each other in computer labs. That's pretty much all I had to say. It's been an interesting experience, like a strange, bonding ritual for cs.
