This week I started volunteering at the Peninsula Fine Arts Center, and I pretty much have an internship in my future. I'll get to learn curatorial duties as well as photography, so I'll be taking pictures for brochures and newsletters and things. I'm so excited! And the volunteering has been good too, I started on Thursday night doing Art's Cafe. I helped make and set out hors douvres. They do it every Thursday night, a band comes and plays in the gallery while people have wine and beer and food and socialize, listen to music, and look around. It's so neat, in one room there are pieces by Betye and Allison Sarr, and then down the hall they have an exhibit of works done by a professor at CNU. Nothing is permanent since it's not a museum, so it changes a lot. The band on Thursday was pretty good, and they had another guy doing acoustic stuff, and they were all about my age. And the crowd that came had a big variation in age. And on Friday I volunteered at the front desk, which was my first time doing office type work. It was a struggle at first getting the phone and all right, but I'll get used to it.

On Saturday I ended up going to the Mae concert kinda last minute. My friend couldn't go, so I bought her ticket and went with her friend. We missed the first openers, Inkwell, but got there in time for The Spill Canvas, who were really good. My neck is still sore from trying to see around all the tall people, but we got some pretty good views. And now I know how to get to the Norva. Tight.
