Catalina!
You know who's great? THE BABY.
My cousin Catalina is, in my opinion, the smartest, prettiest, funniest, most adorable one-year-old ever. She's very aware of everything, and she interacts with the world in such inspiring ways. It's hard to describe exactly why, but I am really taken with this kid. I took a photo of her and showed it to her, and she took the camera from me and looked at her own picture, and then looked back at me like, "You did this?! Whoa. This is blowing my mind!" and then walked around with my camera, looking at her own picture, completely entranced by it. And when she'd accidentally hit a button that would make the picture go away, she'd bring the camera back to me, like, "Fix it! Where did I go?!" That sense of wonder and complete fascination with everything is really heartwarming.
In unrelated news, I have some friends and some clean clothes. In the clean clothes, I will go with some of the friends to Tigre this weekend; it's a day trip, but it's a day trip jam-packed with awesome. We can get there by bus, it's an hour and a half north of Buenos Aires, and it's a UNESCO World Heritage Site on the delta of the Paraná river. There's a mate museum and a fruit market and you can kayak or you can go in a non-kayak boat to see all the islands in the delta, some of which are inhabited by indigenous people. These are some exciting plans. :)
