Inferno: A short, spoiler-free review

May 28, 2013 02:11

Having just finished reading Dan Brown's latest, Inferno, I have to say...
If I was a colleague of Robert Langdon's, and he showed up unexpectedly at my museum/library/historic site, I would not greet him with a smile and exclamation of happy surprise like the people in the books do.

I would be smart enough to call security and run like hell in the other direction. Because any time that guy shows up, bad shit is about to go down. There will be gunfire, bloodshed, structural integrity failures, chases and other things you really don't want going on in your workplace.

Also, Brown emphasized the villain's green eyes so many times I wondered if he was related to Lily Evans-Potter.

Teasing aside, though, I loved the book and could hardly put it down. A fun read, lots of surprises and excitement, and several times when I went "Whaaaaaat?" right out loud at a plot twist. So yeah, loved it. Read it in less than 28 hours.
