OBSIDIA DINGED 70!!!
Questing in the Kirin Var village in south-east Netherstorm pushed her over the edge and she became my second character to hit level 70! WOOHOO!
I immediately hearthed to Shattrath and then flew to the Allerian Stronghold, and rode from there to Shadowmoon Valley to get a flying mount. I don't have enough gold saved up to get her an epic flyer right off the bat, but I had plenty to get her a Snowy White Gryphon to zip around on for the time being.
I hadn't done any quests in Shadowmoon Valley on Obsidia (a.k.a. Obsydia since the server transfer, thank you very much lvl <10 Horde player who took the name...grr...) She still has quite a few left in Blade's Edge, and she's only done the southern half of Netherstorm--two mana forges but none of the biodomes, etc. So there'll be plenty of gold coming in that way.
She may have stopped gaining XP but she's got a long way to go to really plateau at the top. Still about 30 points of Jewelcrafting to get, plus about that much for Cooking, and she's way behind on fishing. I'm not too concerned about the fishing, though, as Skar is maxed out and she can catch anything that either character needs.
Before I logged off I mailed the mats for an Imbued Netherweave Robe to a tailor in my guild so I'll have a new robe waiting when I get online tomorrow. She's got the staff from the Ring of Blood in Nagrand. The rest of the gear I'll get from quests and such.
I don't know that I'll seriously do any raiding with her, as it's hard enough keeping up with everything on Skarlette, but it's awesome to have another max level character. Obsidia has her Heroic key for Coilfang already, I believe, but none of the others. Certainly no Karazhan key or anything (although the last patch removed the requirement for it, assuming you have someone to open the gate.)
After buying the flying mount, I took a buzz over to the Scryer village in Shadowmoon, since as an Aldor I'd never gotten a look at it on Skarlette.
For obvious lore reasons Obsidia wasted no time in seeking out an "elf" named Mordenai in the Netherwing Fields, after which she spent some quality time feeding her starving cousins with flayer meat. ^_^
Yes, I'm obviously going to try for a Netherdrake for her, too. Skarlette alternates between hers and her swift blue gryphon. The glowy effects on the drake can increase lag and lower my framerate on my crappy computer, so the gryphon is often faster, even though they're supposedly the same speed. >_<
After helping out Mordenaku and her other draconic relatives, Obsidia headed home to Stormwind to update her training, and waste a bunch of Soulshards summoning each of her pets to teach them new tomes. Once all that was up-to-date, she took a detour into the Stockades to try out Seed of Corruption. Bwahahahahaha! That's fun. ;D
It got too late to wander over to the Keep to pay big sis a visit, but no doubt Obsidia will head over there tomorrow to brag. While Onyxia has been twiddling her thumbs claws back on Azeroth, her sibling has been busy, busy, busy!
