"It's full of stars!"

I just learned that Arthur C. Clarke has passed away at the age of 90.

One of my favorite writers, a brilliant man in a number of fields, and a true visionary. I've passed many a good hour with my nose buried in Rendezvous with Rama and its sequels, 2001: A Space Odyssey and its sequels, Childhood's End, Hammer of God, Richter 10, and countless other stories by him, (and shed many tears at the tragic plot twists in some of his books--Richter 10 and the last Rama book, I'm looking at you!)

A salute to you, sir. The world is a little less bright without you in it.

[Footnote: The really creepy part? A day or two ago I had just been randomly thinking about all the good short stories Clarke wrote, and how I haven't read them in many years. Weird coincidence.]
