I just spent 45 minutes standing by the kitchen table, rambling to my mom about Pirates of the Caribbean and why Jack/Liz is OTP. *facepalm* She was sewing pillowcases so she didn't mind listening to the ramblings of a crazy/obsessed fangirl. Heh.
I saw Dead Men's Chest for the third time this evening. I ♥ that movie so darn much. ^_^
Among a few tidbits I noticed this time around:
Will begins the movie in shackles. Give or take a minute or so, Jack ends the movie in shackles.
Will begins the movie with Elizabeth's love. Jack...well, I think everyone can follow my line of thought. ;)
I had noticed the heartbeat motif in the soundtrack before but tonight I realized the heatbeat rhythm shows up in two other places. One, at the end when Will is acting like he's going to snap and kill everyone any second, as he's thunking his knife into Tia's table. Ka-chunk...ka-chunk...ka-chunk... Two, when Davy Jones walks across the wooden deck, his peg leg (er, crab leg) makes the same rhythm. Ker-thunk...ker-thunk...ker-thunk... So many heartbeats pounding through this movie.
Random geeky thought: Elizabeth would be a rogue if she played WoW...she duel-wields swords really well. *snerk*
In the jail near the beginning of the film Governor Swann tells Will "Just because you would risk your life to save Sparrow's doesn't mean he would do the same for anyone else." Yet that is exactly what he does at the end when returns to face the Kraken. Take that, Weatherby! Nyah! "He's a better man than you give him credit for," as Elizabeth said (although she was talking about Will, but...heh.)
I noticed there's an old brown globe in Davy Jones' cabin. You can see it on the left as Will enters (would be Will's right.) Just a random observation. Davy Jones is awesome--the range of emotion on his face when he's playing the organ is just incredible for a totally CG character. Poor heartbroken squidman...*pats Davy* *gets slime on her hand* Eew. Never mind.
I want my very own Kraken to summon when people annoy me. ;)
And on that note, I have to get to bed. Work tomorrow.
