The 100 favourite fictional characters... as chosen by 100 literary luminaries

Among the ones I'm familiar with...

Gandalf of LOTR fame
Pip, Joe and Miss Havisham from Great Expectations
Maise from Henry James' What Maise Knew (Geez, I hate Henry James...)
Jane Austen's title heroine from Emma, P&P's Elizabeth Bennett, S&S's Elinor Dashwood, Persuasion's Anne Eliot, and Mansfield Park's Mrs. Norris (not Filch's cat in Harry Potter! LOL!)
Jane Eyre
Harriet the Spy
The Cat in the Hat (!)
Paddington Bear (!!)
Anne of Green Gables
Hamlet
Rhett Butler
Moby Dick (Yes, the whale. o_0 Okay then.)
Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson
Tintin from Phillip Pullman's His Dark Materials trilogy (Should I be terribly ashamed that I have no idea who this character is, despite having just read that series a year ago? o_0 Oy.)
Lyra Silvertongue (From the same Pullman series--HER I remember! LOL!)

And...drumroll please...BIGWIG! My favorite character from my favorite book! Wooooot! You da man rabbit! XD

Back to hating my sinuses now...
Although I got a really great deal on a box of Tylenol Sinus caplets at Walgreens. That was spiffy. I also got a big ol' stack of Disney comics, which makes me a very happy fangirl. And a big bottle of water treater and a bunch of filter sponges, which makes me a pleased fish-mommy. ;)
