Manga geekery
I just shelled out another 25 shaboozies for the next year of LJ. I R teh eljay addict.
I also went nuts on the library's online catalog and added a bunch more reserves to my account. I now have 27 requests outstanding, all for various manga I've been reading. For whatever stupid reason the library here in town will have a smattering of volumes in a series, but not the whole thing, so I have to have them sent in from other cities in the system. And because every broke otaku in this part of the state is waiting for the same few copies to be available, my request is anywhere from 1st to 10th in line. Fortunately the turnover on manga tends to be fairly fast, since they don't take too long to read, but still...it's annoying. Not annoying enough to make me spend hundreds of dollars BUYING these manga instead, of course. But annoying.
So far I've managed to get my hands on 1-6 of Fushigi Yugi, 1-7 of Ceres: Celestial Legend, 1-17 of Inu-Yasha (not counting 7), and the first 25 volumes of Ranma 1/2 (not counting 4 and 11). Add to that a big ol' stack of Oh My Goddess! and a handful of volumes from Tokyo Mew Mew, One Piece, Marmalade Boy and Wedding Peach, and I'm turning into a fairly well-read manga geek. ^_^ I ♥ the library.
