Keeping myself busy...

Oct 28, 2004 18:13

I put in two more hours shifting today. Dewey number 850-ish back through 780-ish in biographies are now moved. I work a regular shift tomorrow so I probably won't get much shifting done then, especially with the MORE survey.

The Democrats just called begging me to do either phone banks or canvassing this weekend. I haven't been down there in like two weeks. *guilty sigh* I suxxorz. So I signed up for a shift Saturday from 3 to 6. That's a long time to be making phone calls to people who don't want to talk to me. >_< But it's still better than going to door to door and having people glare at me, shut the door in my face, and swear at me for interrupting their lives. :-p

It just seems to me there must be a better way to campaign than bothering people on the phone or at their door, but I don't know what it would be. Rallies are awesome but you can't get poll data from them, I suppose. Oh well, I don't suppose I can think of a revolutionary new way to campaign when the greatest political minds in the world haven't. :-p So while I hate making phone calls and annoying people, I'll do it because I want to help Kerry win. If he can make the sacrifices he's made for our country, I can spare three hours out of my weekend to get snarked at and hung up on.

tviokh, are you doing any phone bank hours this weekend? And do you volunteer in EC or Chippewa?
