Arg!
I HATE HATE HATE cheap filters. >_< The crappy el-cheapo ones that came with my 10- and 5-1/2-gallon setups are TEH SUCK. The 5 1/2-gallon that's currently inhabited by Henry the Betta has a nice AquaClear Mini filter that I bought ages ago for the 10-gallon tank when Sammy and Jackie lived in there. So since Henry's using that one, Benny has to use the cheap piece of dung filter that came with the tank. And it sucks! It's impossible to take apart and clean, and after turning it off for any reason, good damn luck getting the impeller assembly to lock into the motor again. Unless it's JUST RIGHT it won't start, and I just spent at least 15 minutes fighting with the @#)%* thing. >_< I still have to clean both of the 37-gallon tanks, but I thought, gee, I'll do the little, EASY tank first! Pshaw! :-p Not Benny's fault, although he heard his mommy say some bad words. ;)
Speaking of Benny and the reason for his exile in the 10-gallon, Sammy's shredded tail isn't any better. It's got more red edges today and I think it might need more than just MelaFix to heal. "Fortunately" I had some Maracyn 2 leftover from Jackie :( so I'll add some of that to the tank after the water change today. :\ Actually, I put the tablets in the water at lunchtime and suddenly realized, hey, dumbass, you're going to do a water change in a few hours that will remove a lot of that medicine. >_< So I quickly scooped the tablets out again and put them in a medicine cup of tank water. They're dissolved in there now, and I'll just dump the cup into the tank after the water change. *smacks forehead*
*sigh* *deep breath* Okay, back to fishie maintenance.
