Famous connections

Two different times online this week the question came up, "Are you related to anyone famous?" Well, define famous, and specify how closely I'm related. ;)

I'm not a blood relative, but my mom's sister's first husband (i.e. my ex-uncle) was related to Antarctic explorer Ernest Shackleton.

Just because I'm paranoid doesn't mean people aren't trying to kill me. ;) Or stalk me. Or egg my house. Or put headless gerbils in my mailbox. Or something.

Seriously, it's one thing for someone to say, "I live in L.A.!" But this isn't exactly the hugest metropolis in the world and it's a little easier to narrow it down. >_<

I'm somehow related to the first general to die in the Revolutionary war. General Montgomery. There's a plaque in his honor somewhere in Quebec.
