Fishie pics
Here's Addy just sitting on the bottom, before we hooked up the fishing bobbers to lift her off the gravel. She just sat there looking uncomfortable.
Mellie says, "Leave her alone! Addy, are you okay? What did they do to you? Where did you go for all that time? What's this thing on you? I won't let anyone hurt you!"
And here she is with the bobbers, hovering a few inches off the gravel.
Mellie's still playing nurse, watching out for her pal.
Mellie says, "I won't let those nasty humans bother you any more, Addy!"
So far she's still adjusting to her odd situation. She wasn't interested in the Pro-Gold that sank right in front of her face and bounced off her nose, so I tried hand-feeding her some bits of Pro-Gold and some Aquadine spirulina (always a favorite.) She sucked in a bit of spirulina but spat it out again. I didn't push it; she's had a tough day. I didn't give them lunch because I thought the vet visit would be easier on an empty stomach, but she certainly won't waste away if she doesn't eat for a day.
I'm going to anchor her bobbers at the top when I go to bed so she doesn't get tangled up in a plant or anything overnight. She can just rest dangling in one spot overnight. I really do think she's more comfortable floating like this than sitting on the bottom like a rock.
