Hurricane Isabel and a fake LotR fic
Hurricane Isabel is making landfall in North Carolina today. Some INCREDIBLE video on TV. Brian Williams was out in the wind on MSNBC and he called over Mike Seidel from the Weather Channel to use his handheld anemometer. The wind was so strong Seidel started to blow away, so Williams grabbed onto him like in a big hug, but it was no use--they blew away! O_O Seidel rolled over a couple times and Williams just sort of ran, against his will, downwind. It took the cameraman a minute to find them back. Neither were really injured, so I can guiltlessly laugh my arse off. ^_^ It was hilarious, and I'm so glad I got to see it live, too, although they've been replaying it numerous times on MSNBC. The anchors who are safely in the nice, dry studio hundreds of miles away, were teasing Brian Williams because he's normally so poised and perfect. LMAO!
I was responding to an entry in roamingtigress's journal about writing fanfics that might be controversial and unpopular but seem RIGHT to you, and this spewed out of my brain. It's a parody LotR badfic. I was basically telling Roaming Tigress to write whatever felt right to her, and spoke to her, as long as it wasnt' like this:
"OMG so i wuz walkign hom frum skool & i fell thru a timewarp/portal/glowing thingy ^_^ and then like OMG I landed in Legolas's lap and he was like OMG who R U and he was all freaking out cuz i wuz in mye cheerleeding outfitt from sckool and he's like girls around here dont wear stuff like that and i'm like, thats cuz im from earth not middle aerth *g* and then he fell in luuuuuurve w/ me cuz we R liek solemates & stuff and he asked me 2 mary him and i said OMG yes leggy i luv u so much and we got marryed at riverdell and we have SEx evry day & had a zillion kids and it was so coooool omg!!!!!11"
I had sooooooooo much fun writing that. But then I'm evil like that. ^_^
