This past Thursday, my mom was fired from Me&Ed's restaurant in the south end of New Bedford. She was let go after being a very loyal and devoted employee for 29 years. Their reasons for firing? Age and sex discrimination, "how you look"(and when asked what they meant by that, they had no answer), and "it's my restaurant, i can fire whoever I want". NOT A REASON FOR FIRING SOMEONE. In the 29 years she's worked there, she had built up a loyal customer base and actually CARED for her customers, which is something that you do not come across nowadays at ANY establishment. Due to the fact that they obviously do not care about how they treat their workers, I would ask that you consider taking your business elsewhere. I know I've told a lot of you how great the food is there in the past, but Ma Raffa's is just as good and it's not too far from there. :) Yes, I AM bitter, but it's my mom. Wouldn't YOU be? Thanks for hearing me out and if any of you are up for a night at Ma Raffa's, give me a ring. ;)
