I've decided I want to write for television.
I want to write for children too.
And be a librarian.
And get an M.F.A. in writing for children and in fiction writing.
And work in publishing.
But today my fascination is with writing for television.
I looked up a bunch of stuff about it - apparently, to get started, you have to write a "spec" script based on a show that already exists and is critically acclaimed. And you have to follow the format that the industry uses.
I like having rules to follow. And writing a spec script is just like role-playing or writing fan fiction. It's taking someone else's characters and coming up with a story for them. I can do that! And I like doing that! So for today, my future goal is to write for television...
