Pride
It’s not something she advertises, this secret vice of hers. But when she has the time and can make sure she’s not seen without being interrupted, Emma finds herself a quiet corner and watches her.
Angela has changed so much since Emma and her team found her amongst the ruins of Genosha and not just physically. A good diet and following a strong excersise program has strengthed her so that not only can she fly on her own but also carry someone. It’s made her lean and muscular and Emma isn’t blind to all the eyes that following her in the mansion and outside of it.
But it isn’t just the physical changes which brings Emma here. It’s the confidence Angela shows now as she swoops through the Danger Room simulation, dodging holographic attacks and destroying robots by twisting their heads off or shredding them with her diamond wings. It’s how she walks with her head held high and how her eyes meet every gaze she comes across without flinching or lowering. And while she still doesn't talk much, what she has to say is well thought out and isn't spoken in a whisper.
No, this vice of Emma’s isn’t about stalking and watching Angela. Not really. Watching her is just an added bonus.
It’s about pride. Pride in a woman that doesn’t know pride in herself, even if she exudes it from her pores with every movement and breath she takes now. And that’s ok. Really.
Because Emma knows she has more than enough pride to share and Angela deserves all that she can spare.
