Just an update
This week was fun. The time between spring break and memorial day is hard because it is so many 5 day weeks in a row (after way too many 4 day weeks) and the kids have to take the WASL, but finishing up my poetry unit this week was really fun.
Friday I went on a date with my husband. We ate at my favorite restaurant then saw "Lease" which is a great show, if you haven't seen it yet. It is Jet City's improvised rock opera. Afterward, we hung out with the cast. Great people! The night could not have been better.
Saturday, Ian and I went to lunch with Amanda, Gabe, Sean, and some other friends. Then I spent some time with the kids I used to nanny. Bryent and Emi are great! They were making Mother's Day cards and I asked Emi if she wanted me to write a message for her mom inside. (She's four so she can't spell yet.) She said, "Yes. Please write, 'Thank you for being my mother. You are pretty. You make me feel nice. Love, Emi.'" Her brother overheard and asked, "Katie, can I write the same thing Emi said?"
Then I went to Ian's show followed by a chill hang-out session with Gabe and Amanda.
I am looking for a position for next year but not whole-heartedly yet.
Overall, life is good...rollercoastery but good.
My cats are still the cutest cats in the world. My husband is still the sweetest man in the world. What more can I ask for?

It is funny to think that I was preparing to graduate from high school (and go to Scripps) 10 years ago. I was preparing to get married 5 years ago. I was preparing to go to grad school (and become an aunt) 2 years ago. I think I like May. It is a good time to be alive.
