Family update

Aug 28, 2008 00:00

Bye. I'm off to the States tomorrow on a ticket bought by my daughter and her new, much more likeable than the last one, husband, so I can attend THE christening (although he calls it baptism) of my second grandson. Paul Joseph, named after dearly beloved Grandad who died on Easter Saturday this year, aged 98. I went out to help her after the birth in early April, and since then I've seen the beautiful babe on video-chat, every other week for five months, and can't wait to get my hands on him again.

I will miss badly, however, my other grandson, Luke (nineteen months and one of the main lights of my life) who lives just around the corner. How lucky am I? All these babes, and me with no responsibility whatsoever, just the authority to spoil the little buggers rotten! And so piss off my daughters, both of them, big time. And I simply don't care. It's a grandparent's prerogative to spoil the little ones. He wants a hammer? I simply can't understand why he can't have one! Bless him.

I'm only going for a long weekend, Thursday to Monday, but I'm going to enjoy every minute of it. Taxi arrives tomorrow at six a.m. to take me to terminal four, so night night you lot.

Talk soon.
