Lost friends reunited

And another thing that has happened in the last few months: my ex-husband married again in May and although I didn't go, my entire family attended. And there were two people there who had, apparently, been trying desperately to get in touch with me for the last fourteen years. Old friends from before I met him, one of whom actually introduced us. We'd gone everywhere as a foursome for years when I was married but, as the guy was best friends with my ex, it never occurred to me to try to get in touch with them. It's always very difficult when a couple splits up and the friends get torn between two warring or opposing camps.

Anyway, they accosted my two daughters at the wedding and asked for my phone number - no-one, over the years, had ever given it to them. And within a day or two they were calling me, asking me down for the weekend etc. It was fabulous meeting them again but, best of all, knowing they didn't blame me, they still loved me and wanted to know me, and I had the best weekend, catching up with them.

So that was a definite GOOD thing. Not only that, they came out to the States with me to attend Caro's second wedding and we spent time together in New York last Monday on what must have been the hottest bloody day of the year so far! And together we finally saw the Statue of Liberty. Awesome sight.
