Oh, LJ! I'm sorry, I forgot you were here!
I went to AWA last weekend, and wore 2 new costumes, neither of which was worn on Saturday, making for a very weird and different con experience. Seriously, not cosplaying on Saturday??? Just... strange. I honestly thought about going home to do some last minute sewing and shopping because without cosplay or contests or panels, I didn't really know what to do with myself. Except buy a pink Power Ranger t-shirt, which was an AWESOME idea.
Because the line was so damn long, I didn't get to cheer my girls across the stage, but I DID get to see the winners announced and see
koneko,
samu-chan, and
yashuntafun take Best in Show! It was funny because I started screaming right as I heard the first name announced, before anyone even knew which costumes were the winners yet. I KNEW, THOUGH. I KNEW.
On Friday, I wore Yukari for a good 3 hours (+ the 2 hours I helped Mer get dressed) during which we attended a mini-photoshoot with Dim Horizon and 2 panels that were really enjoyable! One of which Cliff was on. :) (Sadly, the only time he got to spend at the con was at his 2 panels... plus a little dealer's room wandering.) Then on Sunday, I wore Listen! Mio with Megan, Sam, and Mer in an almost full K-On! group (minus Azu-jo~ ;A;). We shot with a photographer I'd never met before... which is weird because it used to be that I was the one who introduced my friends to photographers, not the other way around. Oh, how the tables have turned!!
Yukari and Miwako preview! This is the only shot where I didn't look like a total tranny (or like I'd put on 20 lbs):
So I'll probably be dumping a LOT of images soon for Imagicon, then SDCC, D*C, and finally AWA. But non-internet priorities come first, such as finding an apartment and moving out on my own. I've seen a couple nice places so far, but more on that later! :D
EDIT: Oh, and Mer pretty much convinced me to do Grand Prix Yukari for AWA next year before I get any older... probably because it's a good idea to listen to cosplay suggestions from future judges. ;D
