Highway 280 is now four lanes all the way from Birmingham to Auburn. I always said it would never happen before I graduated, so there's proof positive that I've been here way too long. Actually, the state made it in the nick of time, since I'll be graduating one month and three days from today! I can't believe it. I'm definitely ready to be done with school, but I'm still feeling a little anxious about the change. It's mainly just me being sentimental, I'm sure.
The good news is I'll be employed after I get my degree; I've been offered a job doing financial consulting in Atlanta!
I'm just now preparing to present all the work I did abroad last year to earn independent study credit toward my French degree. I kept a journal of my personal experiences, in which I wrote a page or so en francais three or four times a week. I'm currently editing all of them, and it's making me really sad. I'm reading over the fun and funny experiences which I saw fit to share with the French faculty, and those in turn make me think of all the other things going on during that period in my life. (See above comment referring to excessive sentimentality.) I just finished reading the last entry I wrote before I flew home for Christmas break.
This time last year I was about to head off on my second great European adventure (which Leslie and I like to call Katie and Leslie Take Europe, Part II).
