Hurricane Katrina
I am in Shreveport with my family and Lance. We are staying at my brother-in-law's apartment. I think that we are planning on driving up to Little Rock for a week or two until they pump all of the water out of SE Louisiana. Luckily, the French Quarter has not gotten a lot of water or had much damage, so Lance and I will more than likely still have an apartment. My parent's house is completely devastated in Slidell. The twin spans to Slidell are completely wrecked, and most of the subdivisions there have ten feet of water in them. My other sister lives down the street from them, and that is where my car is. My other sister and her family live in Covington, and we havent heard much about that area. Frank is, thankly, safe in Tupelo with Kirt and his family. We have heard from a few of our other friends who live(d) in Saint Bernard, and they are ok. There are a few people that I still cannot contact. I hope that they are okay.
Lance and I plan to go back to New Orleans in a week if they let us, salvage anything that we can, and then get the fuck out of Louisiana. I'll use the last $1000 I have to buy a plane ticket. I don't want to have this happen again. And, why rebuild your life in the place that fucked you over the first time?
All of SE Louisiana is devastated. I just hope that everyone is still alive. We will all rebuild together.
