I pretty much had the best day thusfar today.
It started out slowly with an 8:30AM class. Getting up for an 8:30AM class is no fun whatsoever, but I'll tell you what is: walking to Pawley for an 8:30AM class. It was gorgeous out this morning - just the right temperature; cool but sunny. The walk went by quickly, and before I knew it, I was in my Children's Art class. I had been freaking out about this class because of some miscommunications about the professor and the fact that I cannot draw to save my life, but the two and a half hours I was there were amazing.
First of all, we aren't graded on our artistic abilities. It's more about our effort and participation. The prof is huge on participation, so I perked right up and started participating. She was also really big on getting us to trust that she wouldn't hurt us intellectually or embarass us. It was great. I honestly felt right at home. After class I met up with Katie Kunze. She has her science class right down the hall from me at almost the same time. We went to the bookstore and I bought another $70 Children's Lit book. The line was long, but it moved quickly, and before we knew it we were dumped back out in The OC. We had lunch there (my first on-campus meal!) and then went back to my dorm so I could show it off. She left, and I watched a little TV and did some yoga before falling asleep. Here's a hint: yoga makes you sleepy. I slept for about an hour, and it was lovely.
Then, like a gift from the gods, my phone rang. It was Keefie, on his way to see me! I directed him to my dorm and we sat around and chatted for awhile before going to find food. We were looking for a sub shop (and ignoring the fact that there's a Subway on campus) when we stumbled into Applebee's. It was about 3:00 and there was no one there, so I didn't have to wear my "I'm Not With Him" shirt. After that we went back to campus and found the arcade. They're having a promotion dealie so we got ten free tokens each and an hour of pool for $3. The pool was pretty freaking awesome. Jason beat me the first two times, but I beat him the last time, which is amazing because I'd always considered myself to be awful at pool. When our hour was up we hit up the games. He made me play some gory shooting games after I made him bowl with me, then we settled on the X-Men game, which was a lot of fun. He had to go to his IV meeting thingie, so we parted and I went back to my room to pack and study.
Right now they're playing X3 on a big screen over the parking lot and lake, and I can see and hear it from my room, which is awesome in more ways than one. I'm leaving for Petoskey tomorrow after math and will be gone until Sunday or Monday, but I'm not coming back to campus until Tuesday after work. That's right - work starts again on Tuesday. I cannot wait. I work 12-6 Tuesday, 12-6 Thursday and 2:30-5:30 on Friday. Yay!
