Last Chance
by Cartel
album: The Ransom (EP) (2004)
This is me calling you out for all these built up superstitions.
they haunt me now and then for just a little light down here
i would run, i would cross a thousand seas.
and in our perfect world you would wait at the other side.
I know that you, you'll follow up with all the answers
if you were there for me at all.
This is the way that i can't describe anything i've felt for a while.
it's just a little too much to take.
So tell me what would you have to say for asking who you really are.
oh god, i want to know just a little truth down here.
i would write a thousand songs and sing them all to you.
you know you wouldn't have to say a thing.
So enough with everyone else's words.
it's just a sign that nothing makes sense to me.
this is your last chance.
see i'd cut you just to watch you bleed.
it's the only way to make you see you're never there for me.
you're never there for me at all.
Settle Down
by Cartel
album: Chroma (2005)
It was just a few years in the making now.
The two were locked in a heated dispute,
'Cause he was gone when she needed him more.
Then she could really ever let on to.
They were the poster perfect high school sweethearts,
But moving out can erase the time
The two had spent it on working it out and
Everybody knew that they were out of their minds.
Oh, you know you really need to settle down
And let it go.
You know you really need to settle down
You really need to let it go.
Consider this, he was moving on while
She was busy trying to pass the time
Between the previous and next nervous breakdown.
The girl had given up the love of her life.
And all the time that she was givin' up slowly
he didn't notice when she ran away
and when it came to finally letting him on
well this is every single word she'd say...
Oh, you know you really need to settle down
And let it go.
You know you really need to settle down
No you really need to let it go.
Forget, forget his lies -
It's the only way to save your life.
'Cause this is restitution
For the love you've thrown away.
Just say you left me like you could.
Oh, oh you said you never would.
Just say it's done, and be gone.
Just say you left me like you could.
Oh, oh you said you never would.
Just say it's done, and be gone.
Just say it's done, and be gone.
Let it go!
You know you really need to settle down
And let it go!
You really need to settle down
You really need to let it go.
Forget, forget his lies,
It's the only way to save your life.
'Cause this is restitution
For the love you've thrown away.
You know you really need to settle down.
You know you really need to settle down.
You know you really need to let it go.
Save Us
by Cartel
album: Chroma (2005)
Simple words we never knew,
The power behind what they put us through,
Now it's all begun
What it takes to make it real.
We're standing on the edge of this,
When our soul is gone what will we miss?
We lost what it takes to really make it feel.
But the better days behind us now,
We all need someone to tell us how
To save the state of where we are,
Its keeps demanding more and more and more.
And who will save us?
This can't go on, without the meaning in the rhyming.
Can you save, can you save us?
I can't go on out of rhythm without time.
We hold this truth self evident,
The lies we used to represent
Who we are, because it was never meant to be.
And all the songs we used to sing, they used to tell us everything.
All about how it was never meant to be
But the better day’s behind us now.
We all need someone to tell us how
To save this state of where we are,
It keeps demanding more and more and more.
Who will save us?
This can't go on, without the meaning in the rhyming.
Can you save, can you save us?
I can't go on out of rhythm without time.
Say the words, give it all the time you need.
Let it out, oh, just say anything.
Say the words and make them count,
Say them loud without a doubt.
Give us truth and nothing more,
Leave us wanting more and more.
Can you save us?
This can't go on, without the meaning in the rhyming.
Can you say, that you'll you save us?
I can't go on, out of rhythm without timing.
Can you say, can you say, you'll save us?
I can't go on, without the meaning in the rhyming.
Can you say, that you'll save us.
Well I can't go on, out of rhythm without time.
We're out of rhythm without time.
If I Fail
by Cartel
album: Chroma (2005)
"its time to go, this is goodbye"
she said "does it ever get easier to live like this"
and kiss the cheek
well i can't kiss you anymore
and i, i would honestly love you now
but i would lovingly let you down
oh i have the hardest time resisting you
and oh if you
if you feel the same way then how can we be friends
he's right you know
we can't go on like this
and oh i try to give you everything
and if i fail well then i failed
but at least i gave you something
i could put my trust in giving up the heart
it makes the difference
and how can you afford to settle down
when i, i would promise to love you now
but i would lovingly let you down
oh i have the hardest time resisting you
and oh if you
if you feel the same way then how can we be friends
he's right you know, we can't go on like this
and oh i try to give you everything
and if i fail well then i failed
but at least i gave you something
(it's better than silence, give me one good reason)
it's better than silence
give me one good reason
to leave this in silence
no you don't have a good reason
if you feel the same way then how can we be friends
he's right you know, we can't go on like this
and oh i try to give you everything
and if i fail well then i failed
but at least i gave you something
it's better than silence
it's better than silence
Hey, Don't Stop
by Cartel
album: The Ransom (EP) (2004)
It's never easy to see the sun when you're locked up in this pretty plaster cage.
So she says she'd love to feel alive again.
but this loneliness necessitates her void.
And i tell her don't stop trying to be the one.
because one day it won't matter who you are.
She's had enough of being down.
and it seems that everything that she's heard.
It's everything that makes her cry and it's just about time to get this right
because i don't know if it's all about taking this drink tonight.
and i've been thinking baby that you're out of your mind.
So now it's midnight and she leans against the wind.
she finds it cold and comforting in this bold and daring glow.
yeh, we all know to pass the time
we pass around a few cold stares and wonder who we are.
I think she's better off this way.
