home sweet home
sophomore year ended with a definate bang. the last week or so of school is typically crazy, but i never expected this...
- Laptop hinges break off while writing a paper worth 40% of my grade. by some miracle the screen turns back on and i am able to email myself the paper and finish it elsewhere. my summer salary should be just enough to cover the cost of repair.
- My flight home is cancelled...after waking up at 5 for an 8 o'clock flight, my rescheduled flight didn't leave until 1 PM. 6 hours to kill in the airport isn't actually so bad...So instead of arriving at 12:15 in time for lunch with mom, i arrived at 8:20 PM.
- New flight schedule flew me from St. Louis to Atlanta to San Jose. ATLANTA!?! it looked like a really nice place...so green and filled with trees!
- During the second flight, I was litteraly surrounded by screaming babies. one each in the two rows in front of me. one behind me (with a loud 4 year old sibling) and two across the aisle. whatever progress i had made in liking children was left behind in Atlanta.
- After waiting an hour for luggage, mine never shows up. it never left st. louis. it should arrive tomorrow between 6 and 10 PM. until then i have three choices. wear the same clothes i wore today, wear my mom's clothes, or go naked.
but damn, it feels good to be home! nothing can make me feel otherwise.
ps. my cellphone is out of commission until i can recharge the battery...which happens when i get my luggage but the home phone would be just as happy to hear you.
