This is my grandfather, Alex Hewko.
This is a picture of him in his Navy uniform from WWII.
He was a pilot.

This is him with my grandmother, Barbara.
Today, Alex is 90 years old with a fading memory.
Barbara is still at his side and they are still very much in love.
They both mean the world to me.
Imagining the things my grandfather saw and the things he sacrificed is something I and very few other people could ever do.
For that, he is an incredible father, veteran, grandfather, husband, and human being

These are his brothers. They all served our country.

From the left: Alex, Ben, Wass, Pete and John.

Go read their story here:
http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/2002/05/23/cover-brothers.htm
Watch the video, listen to my grandfather speak under "Meet The Brothers".

Alex Hewko is an American hero.
His brothers are and were American heroes
They deserves nothing but thanks and admiration.
Alex Hewko is also the best grandfather a grandchild could ever hope for.

Happy Veterans Day, Pop-pop.
Thank you and I love you.
