Ok, so I'm updating at the request of Chrissy and since I haven't done so i a looooong time. But since I'm at work with nothing to do for a while, livejournal has suddenly become far more exciting.
My summer is going pretty much awesome. I don't love the hour drive to and from rochester every day, but i'm getting used to it. I'm sort of glad my job is in the roch because i get to see my friends more, but it is getting expensive even with my 31 miles to the gallon cavalier. Oh well... good thing my parents still pay for my gas. =) Plus, i'm listening to books on cd in the car, so i have max lucado and john grisham to keep me company as i drive throught the middle of nowhere.
My job is lots of fun so far. This is the end of my 3rd week, and i finally feel like i know what's going on most of the time. I don't ALWAYS have to ask questions about everything anymore, so that's good. They let me write 2 feature stories per week usually, plus i do all of the press releases and baby announcements and pretty much whatever else they tell me to do. I got to do a story on a family who is raising their 9th leader dog puppy on tuesday. Their puppy, john, was the cutest most adorable thing ever. Last week, they let me do the "familiar faces" section, so i got to run around downtown rochester and take pictures of people. I met some adorable kids at the park, so clearly they made it onto my page. =)
Every tuesday, i go to the college/young adult group at st. paul's, which is pretty cool. A lot of the people are in their mid to late 20s, but they're fun to hang out with. This week, we played games at the park. It rained. Most of the people ditched so as to not get soaking wet, but liz, cory, and i stayed to play frisbee in the rain. Soooo fun. I love getting rained on especially when it's warm outside.
Tonight is supposed to be the Festival of the Hills at borden park. Right now (about 1 pm) it's pouring rain, so that may or may not actually happen. As always, we're going to sit on brandon's lawn to watch the fireworks if they don't get rained out. Since he's right across the street from borden, he has the best view i've ever seen of the fireworks and then you don't have to deal with all the 3 zillion other people who come.
So this entry is starting to get really long and it has no point that i can see. Hence, i am going to stop typing. Nothing else to do in the office still, so maybe i'll go play with Quizzilla for a while. Check back later for any fun quiz updates in case i find some.
