Gee, this wasn't predictable or anything. What happened to no tax raises for 95% of Americans?

I wouldn't be totally against tax hikes to reduce the deficit if it was coupled with less government spending. But its stupid to ask more of the public when they are spending more. My feelings on gov't healthcare are mixed, but doing it now, when we're in a huge deficit, just doesn't seem like a good idea.
