end of the year

Today was fun...stayed up late on the phone then slept late (I told you it was no big deal to talk that long!) Went out for ice cream and "tour" w/ Caitlin. Found one the most intriguing and most expensive stores ever....especially in downtown. But such fun stuff..... pity.

After graduation, and China, Caitlin and I have decided we want a house -- ok, probably an apartment -- to decorate and be "adults". I can continue being a wedding planner (or, David, your "mexican") -- speaking of which...Shylan, Lauren....details please??? I know y'all are both ironing things out over J-term but you also need to let me know what you decide so I can enter it all in and keep it organized "the better to help you later". Even if it's 100 emails, it's ok; I made a "wedding" folder just for y'all :) And to go with that, I plan to be investigating perks of flying, Amtraking, carpooling, and roadtripping to Wyoming in June...details finalized in spring break to therefore order tickets or such. Suggestions?? Companions?? Need to know from the bride when she wants bridesmaids to arrive :) We have to thoroughly embarrass her before she gets wed. ;) Lauren being in TN is soooooooooo much easier -- I'll drive :) Even by myself if I have to bcs it's not all that far. But I DO need to know also from you, dear, when you'd like me to get there to help things run smoothly.

All of this must be scheduled around grad school classes which if I am accepted I will enroll in 4 days prior to graduating from SU. Negative time off. Not fun. Also.......around my job.

That's right! Katie has a lead on a job that sounds particularly interested in hiring her to teach 1st or 2nd grade!! www.wcalions.org And it is less than two miles from current residence :) Although, Athens Academy or Athens Christian or even Prince Avenue would be closer most likely to mine and Caitlin's place. OC won't hire me w/o a certificate but Mrs. Williams -- she's soooo sweet -- said to come back and apply when I got my certificate. There's also the option of going to a different school system in GA that supports the GAT or something like that which will assist with my education and let me teach there while schooling as long as I graduate in 3 years. Lots of fun things to think about. If all else fails, I have a connection to UGA Athletics HR who can get me a job since I have experience w/ tickets and whatnot at SU. And then, I can be an executive administrative assistant anywhere with the experience I have with that as well.

I really am excited about that. Ok, daydreaming now..... I want.... a house w/ 10 foot ceilings. The high ceiling look but not too high that I can't dust the ceiling or change lightbulbs safely. I want a room lit solely by lamps/candles. I want a fireplace that is used with real wood. I want hardwood floors w/ rugs (easier to redecorate!) I want lots of pillows on my bed. I want a dog that is big enough I won't step on him (yes, him) but little enough to sleep at my feet at night. One that likes to be on a leash for walks/jogs, will fetch a tennis ball, is protective of me but wouldn't hurt a fly (or a small child), is furry but doesn't shed profusely, barks but not constantly. Let me know if you figure out what kind of dog that is. I want a kitchen w/ a dishwasher by the name of Maytag, not Katie. I want to go to yard sales to find furniture. I want a magazine subscription that graces the coffee table. I want a house that looks nice but doesn't require a maid or make people feel uncomfortable when they visit (afraid they'll break something valuable or whatnot) I want pictures/posters on the walls. I want candles that are lit, not just decorative. I want it small enough to feel like home but big enough for dinner parties. I want each room painted a different color but not to look like a jumbled up rainbow. I want a chair that I can curl up in and lose myself. I want a bathub good enough for bubble baths (w/ foot high bubbles!) I want a dining room table that can feed 6 people, or hold a magnificent board game :) I want a coffee maker. Ok, enough for now.

And, once again, I've changed my mind. Now it DOES look as though I'll be going to ATL for New Yr's! Yay! Such wonderful friends. :) Y'all make me smile :) And I'd love to spend New Yr's w/ you for the Sugar Bowl. It's almost tempting to go ahead and try to get a ticket. But, my roomie would be mad if I didn't watch Auburn's game w/ her and yell at the TV :) Wow, what fun we'll have :)

Semester starts on the 3rd, move in on the 2nd. Plan to stay thru J-term and even the long weekend after. Should be home 1st or 2nd weekend of Feb to return the car but most importantly, to see Cinderella! Shoot, I've even got me an audience partner! Yay for awesome friends!!!!! Truly I think he'd rather be in the orchestra than in the audience with me but I do know he'll be happy either way (right?) Should be home for spring break as well (Mar 20 and following I think...somewhere around there...that's the Monday maybe?) I have Fridays off so I get a 3 day weekend every week and I plan to take advantage of that at some point. Definitely around Easter when we get a three day anyways, I can have a four day :) Who wants to pick me up at Amtrak? You know you do........ :) It's right after my birthday, you can consider it my birthday present even :) Especially if you take me back to the train station on that Monday as well :) Then you can all come see me graduate on May 20!!!!!!!!!!! Yayayayayayayayayayayay!!!!!!!!!! I REALLY know y'all want to make a roadtrip from Athens over to watch me get my diploma :) Please?? Only excuse is if you're already in China. But if you don't leave for China til the 21st, I expect you in B'ham! :)

Babysitting my precious children tomorrow night so I better get to bed. Gotta pack tomorrow in case I really do get to go to ATL for New Yr's. I want to now :) Got plans made and everything :) Nighty night!

*Note to self: make New Yr's Res. next time.*
