So much to say, but so little reader-attention-span to not abuse!! I must be succinct (you can all stop rolling your eyes now!) here and see if I can fit it all in

In case I'm not around when you turn 30: Happy birthday! That's a big one! And pffft - 30 is definitely not old. Really.
It's good to hear you had a nice time back home. And wow, just hearing about your travels make me so envious (even he getting stuck at the airport thing *lol*). Your works sounds really amazing. Keep us updated, okay? I wanna hear all about it. :)
Well - my birthday is the same day as yours, so you should be doing something fun, not sitting on the puter *g*
I'll reserve judgement about the 30, until I hit it!!
You are making me feel guilty - I have posted a lot more at my blog than here - especially photos. I need to copy everything over, as there are quite a few photos of my field work etc as well. And you are reminding me that I have to look at the pics of your trip (my horrible internet connection means I often can't look at big posts when they appear) - I think it was Syria (or Jordan?) - the Middle East fascinates me, I have to go look at your posts. My dream job is to work in Lebanon - such yummy food!!
Btw - Dubai Airport? Not such a crash hot place!!!
I hope you had a good one! And that the whole turning 30 thing didn't keep you from having a good time. *hugs*
Oh and I'd love to see those photos! If you don't feel like posting them, maybe you can link to them? :)
And you're right, I went to Syria and Jordan the summer of '07. The posts are over here: Syria, Jordan - but yeah, although I've kept the pics pretty small, those posts are definitely not dial-up friendly.
