I love having intelligent moments while in a mechanic's garage. I went to pick up my car from the folks who towed it yesterday and I walked in the garage and they said, "You know it doesn't run, right?" Which sounded pretty weird to me, because when I landed in the ditch I turned off the engine and then turned it back on, just fine. They also said that they couldn't look at it until Monday. So I went out to look at it and among other things, noticed that the exhaust pipe was packed full of ice (presumably from said ditch). So I told the mechanic about it and he said, "Hey, that could be it." So they went out and cleared out the exhaust pipe, and the engine turned over just fine.
I could have waited until Monday to find out it was all because of ice in the exhaust pipe- if not for the fact that I knew my family would expect a full report of what happened and what the car looked like.
Anyways, there's a corner of the bumper that could use a little TLC, and my alignment is out of whack- when I hit 55 miles an hour the whole car vibrates. For landing in a ditch, that's not bad.
In other news, a guy I knew from college is going to Hollywood for American Idol! That should be fun.
Edit: photo on Facebook of the damage to my car.
