Sadly this hotel lacks wireless

I'm in another hotel room with my mother (and her husband) and having flashbacks to last summer, only without the Pringles and a heck of a lot less drama.  In any case, I'm here for my cousin's graduation (daughter of my aunt's husband from a former marriage) from college.  The ceremony doesn't promise to be fascinating, as only a few such ceremonies ever are, but at least it's inside and I won't be sweating to death (like I'm sure I will be in a couple weeks at my beloved alma mater) while it's going on.

Aside from all this, I remain fascinated with other people's fascination with television.  I watch House and Lost, and Psych when it's on.  And admittedly I get really into those shows and I love the characters, and I understand how people get obsessed.  And I don't mind catching the occasional Law and Order or CSI, and they're fun.  But the people I don't get are the ones who do nothing but watch television.  I suppose this is stupid of me, because some would say that all I do is use the internet (not technically true, but it is my main source of entertainment these days).  But the difference between the mediums is what gets me: internet is interactive, and television is as passive as it's possible to get.

I'd ramble on more about this, but the lights just got turned off on me, so I'm staring at a very bright screen in nearly-complete darkness.  I think this is a sign that it's time for me to get ready for bed, as my eyes are probably bad enough already.
