Haiti classmate update
Ben Larson, a classmate of mine, is presumed dead in the Haiti quake.
He, his wife, and his cousin (really, they were more like brothers) were doing aid work in Haiti when the quake hit. Jon and Renee are unhurt and coming home. Ben's body has not been recovered but he was in a building that collapsed and they aren't holding out any hope, really, at this point.
I didn't know Ben all that well, but I have many clear memories of him. About three years ago we were in a production of "Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat" together. It was student-run and student-produced, and none of us had any free time, but he still volunteered to lend his time and talent. And I've got to say, he was one of the best Elvis-impersonating Pharaohs I've ever seen.
I think he'd like that that's how I'm going to remember him best. He really did have a lovely voice.
