An update

Its been a while since I have updated, but a lot has happened recently so here goes.

I am now living and working in Seattle. I work part time as the Casting Assistant at ACT Theatre. Which basically means I get to be in the inner workings of the artistic office there. I help set up and run auditions, I get to sit in on those and weigh in on casting decisions. We are about to start auditions for our third show of our season, Das Barbecu (which for anyone who's interested is a Texan version of Wagners Ring Cycle). Those should be a lot of fun. Earlier this year was Jekyll and Hyde, a really neat adaptation where every member of the cast plays Hyde at some point (except for Jekyll himself). I love the work that ACT produces, and being part of that is awesome. Plus it means that I am always around the theatre. I get inside information and free tickets to things. Its awesome.

And then on the other side of the casting table I have been making the rounds as an actor. I  have auditioned for several theatres in the area, including a very promising audition for the 5th Ave Theatre the big (musical theatre house) they pulled me aside and told me they liked me and everything! Last week I did the Theatre of Puget Sound generals, which means I auditioned for basically every theatre in the area. Its a great way to kill many birds with one stone. I got a call sunday evening from one of the theatres asking me to come in for their callbacks.

So this evening I went to the callbacks for Seussical the Musical, at Kitsap theatre. I read for several different roles, including Mayzie and Gertrude- the female leads. It was rather fun actually. I hadnt really heard the show before yesterday, but it is quite fun and jazzy. I think I am definitely in the running for some sort of role (if its not too arrogant to say so). But if this doesnt turn out I have an audition for Guys and Dolls the first week in March.

So thats whats new at the moment. I should hear back from them sometime soon. We shall see!
