A writing plan for myself:
I'm going to try to finish the rough (ROUGH) draft of my story this month. My original goal was to do another 50,000 words in December. Since I've taken the first week of the month off entirely from writing, that goal is not really realistic anymore. My more realistic goal is now to get 30,000 more words written in December and, if necessary, another 30,000 in January. At that point, I ought to be wrapping it up.
Then I think I'll give myself a couple weeks off. Next step is to do a plot outline that will probably end up being 10+ pages long. After that, I'll take some time off to get married (whoo hoo). Then, the plan for the summer will be to start the arduous editing process. From what I've read, if i actually want to take this the next step and try to get published, the first thing I'll need to do while revising is to make my first three chapters spectacular. Then you start moving into the "dealing with publishing houses and agents" part of the business and I haven't gotten quite so far as to figure out what to do with that.
