Well, apologies if you've gotten sudden comments to your older entries. This was the result of a long absence and a sudden desire to read through the flist entries I missed.
I've been following the G8 via the New York Times, mainly because work has been pretty slow (hooray rain=no fires!). As always, I am astounded by how endlessly our president manages to come up with new and untold methods of embarrassing himself and, by association, our country. Really, I suppose I ought not to be so shocked...but I am. The curse of the occasional optimist.
For perhaps the most painfully amusing of the latest cascade of international slip-ups, I nominate Bush's choice to walk up behind the German Chancellor and sneak-attack her with some decidedly inappropriate International Relations (cue the gong-d'oh). Is there anything more awkward than an uninvited, Creepy-Guy-At-Work-esque backrub?
