Catch up - Pop dies ...

Well it has certainly been a while since I have written in here. I am going to break this over a few topics so that it is easier to take in rather then a big blob of writing, Ok since last time ummmm….

Well my contract ended at MYOB on Dec 20th. I had a great time and was hoping that it would be extended. But was looking forward to the break over Christmas and New Year.

About 2 weeks before I finish Pop died, so Karl and I took off to Tassie again for his funeral, this time my aunt and Uncle, their eldest son and my brother were there as well, so the weekend was a mix of fun and sadness. Mum made these great hand outs and then managed to leave them on the kitchen table and the ministers cd player ran out of batteries so between no words and no music the songs got left.
Dad placed two of Pop’s bibles on his coffin before it was lowered. At the end of the funeral my aunt mentioned to one of the other ladies that there was a newspaper article in one of the bibles about one of her kids, so there was the undertaker on his stomach in the dirt retrieving the article from the bible, but then they picked up the wrong bible. So my uncle lowers himself into the whole to retrieve it from the other bible.
Dad just stood there laughing, with tears in his eyes at it all, he recon that Pop would be up there laughing at us, all our well laid plans seemed to fly out the window that morning.
But with retrieving the article I also managed to get some of his personal notes from the bible including a communion that he wrote years ago. This man had such a heart for God and a great understanding of who he was, and such a close personal relationship with him unto the end, it is all so evident in his writings.
