Bad Move, UMW...Bad Move...
So the school decided to cut the UMW Crew Team, the only team we have that actually wins shit...They're 1st in the region, 7th in the nation, and they just all-around kick everyone's asses...
I wanted to join last year, but my schedule wouldn't accomodate it...and this year, it's basically the same situation...but still, they're an awesome group of people, and it's comepletely unfair that their team was the one to get cut...They had their interest meeting last night at 7:30, and the e-mail reached the coach at 7:15...so the poor guy had to tell the girls' team that it was cut...That had to be one room full of angry chicks...
The e-mail that went out to everyone said that the reason they cut the team was because the site where they used to launch their boats closed down...um...we're ON the friggin' Rappahannock River...I think we can find a place to push the boats into the water...
People all over campus are pissed as hell...There are 3 sites going right now for people to sign petitions to bring back the team, and when I signed it there were already over 200 names just on the one book I signed...It's goin' down, my friends...It's goin' down...
Jeez, UMW drama all over the place...
