Sam, God love him, is clearly going to end up being the designated sane person in this group. (It was Natasha before, but a) she isn't that sane and b) she abdicated.)

Once again, I come out of a superhero movie wondering who pays for all the tech???? Like, who's SHIELD's prime contractor for quinjets and helicarriers? Who's the sub? When did they take over Teddy Roosevelt island, anyway? It's a bit conspicuous for a super-sekkrit HQ (remember when Pepper hadn't heard of SHIELD in Iron Man?), and the locals always know when something hinky is up (cf, NRO in Chantilly).

We had a whole conversation on the way out about recruiting standards. Like, does everyone working on the helicarriers have to be Level 10? Even the janitors? That's an awful lot of people to keep quiet. Or does Level 10 turn into And Then They Were Never Seen Again? 'Cause people are going to stop applying in that case.

The notion of any U.S. government security agency putting itself, voluntarily, under foreign influence is ... maybe an artifact of comic books? Because it's not likely in this world.

Right, exactly. I'm not sure what the deal is in the comics - maybe they're multinational there? But the setup's kind of nonsensical as-is in the MCU.

I want so much more Bucky/Steve angst. And I personally think Natasha was choosing not to disclose an awful lot of her past. Or, as I've seen suggested, she was mind-wiped herself and doesn't know everything about her past, even though she knows she wasn't born in 1984.

Yeah, I think that's likely. I guess we'll learn more about that in AoU.
