So I think my fundamental issue with this show is this: You can have either the ragtag group of misfits dealing with mysteries the rest of the world knows nothing of, or the high-powered strike team supported by the high-powered multi-national organization. Not both. And if you're bringing #2 into it, I really want to have some evidence that your boss sat you all down in a room and at least made you do an icebreaker or something, Coulson, my God, you are a terrible manager and I never, ever want to work for you.
(Also, if you're going to set the episode in Peru you should spend fifteen minutes with the Wikipedia entry on the place.)
I mean, I'm giving it time. But the lack of planning and training makes them kind of come off as idiots - Coulson particularly - and they'd better move past that stage quickly.
