Yuletide

My story was Subjective Truth, a Charlie Jade story for gwyn_r. Which is pretty funny, really, because the whole reason I watched Charlie Jade in the first place was the recruiter vid she did with Jo for Vividcon a couple of years ago. So there you go, make-your-own fandom come full circle.

(The vid in question is here: I Remember. Highly recommended.)

It wasn't the story I wanted it to be, but given that it's the first thing I've finished in, um, a very long time, I'm going to go ahead and call it a win. I did enjoy getting a chance to hang out with Karl; I've always thought he was a really interesting guy who got a bum deal from the show, which is why I chose to write in his POV, and I'm glad that the Karl in my head turned out to have a sense of humor about himself, along with some pride in his work.

And Charlie, of course, is the kind of cynical that you can only be if you've got enough idealist in you to feel betrayed, though I don't think he knows that quite yet.

(Icon used in honor of the twenty-episode-long bad day that is Charlie Jade. I mean, damn. About halfway through I realized my favorite character was the psychopath, mainly because at least he was having fun.)
