It feels like I wasted this day, somehow.

Probably because I didn't leave the building.

(I left the apartment! Only because the washer and dryer are in the basement, but I feel that should count for something. It did require that I change out of my pajamas, at least.)

I did make excellent pizza for dinner, though, with homemade dough and sauce and the whole deal. I was quite pleased with it. Yummy! Pretty! Reasonably low-fat! And now I have a basil plant in my window, since I went to a different grocery store than usual yesterday and the selection was crappy. The only way to get fresh basil was to buy a little pot of it. I give the poor thing two weeks in my care before it expires. I mean, I once managed to kill a philodendron, people.

This evening, I am going to do a little yoga and then have a glass of wine and watch the Doctor Who Christmas special. The reviews I've read are, ah, aggressively mixed, but the wine will make everything better no matter what.

I have to say, the strike is good for me. There's no TV backlog that I have to keep up with! Yesterday I read a book. (Cherryh's Defender. I kind of want to smack Bren a lot of the time, but I'm fairly certain at least some of that is intentional on the author's part.)

I have discovered that apparently they're showing Da Vinci's City Hall, though it's still called Da Vinci's Inquest on the Tivo. I've watched a couple of episodes, and I've gotta say, that is one weird show. Bureaucratic infighting! Labor unrest! And also the occasional pedophile on the side, but really, the show's much more interested in the infighting.

Ooh, and two reminders and then this post really will be done:

1) Chuck is back on Thursday! They're showing the final two filmed episodes at 8 and 10 PM.

2) Since I've now seen two people say they missed it, Vividcon signups have been announced for February 2nd at 12 PM EST.

Toodles!
