No flight for me; I was just woken up out of a sound sleep to be told that it has been canceled. Instead, I agreed to drive to Seattle. I wish I'd been more awake, so we could have discussed topics like "what is Horizon Air going to give me in compensation for not being able to use this leg of the flight either going or coming?" and "Horizon is ( Read more... )

The best part of this story? I got back this week to a cheery message on my answering machine saying that they'd rebooked me on an 11 AM flight that would get me into Albany at the expected time, and they sure hope I haven't left for the airport yet!

ARGH. I told you I was driving, and don't try to rebook, because in my sleep-addled haze it sounded an awful lot like the woman on the phone said rebooking wasn't going to work!

(They are refunding the ticket I didn't use, though. So there's that.)

Horizon Air made me cry.

Alaskan Air made me cry.

They all want to make you cry. They are like the Ori, and the get off on tears.

Hope the drive was safe and the trip as a whole is awesome.

Katie, if in the future you get stuck driving to Seattle to fly out of Sea Tac again, let me know and I can arrange with my parents (who live close enough to the airport that they do this all the time--no, seriously, all the time) to stash your car there and drop you off.

Stupid airlines.

That's very kind--thank you. I'll definitely keep it in mind. On the plus side, the refund for the flight I didn't use should roughly cover the cost of parking, so that's something.
